Over the top: Collections project up date

After looking at how my Pokemon figures can be shown with limited colours, i wanted to create art from the screen printing work shop, only using two or three colours, but having a group tutorial and talking to my tutor about it, i was beginning to like the idea of making really gaudy and kitsch art, that would mirror the type of art used in Pokemon, i thought this could be really fun, so i started on an acrylic painting, trying to capture the style.

Here's my work in progress, i like the pink and over the top tacky feel it has so far, i will try and make another painting like this, but using Pokemon or my own creatures similar to Pokemon.

Collections project

Here's a few of my ideas i have come up with for this project, i first off thought i would base it on my collection of Pokemon cards because they're visually interesting to me and i have quite a few of them, but after a while of looking at them, i thought the cards might be a little bit too flat to work with, so i began looking at Pokemon figures and did a couple of drawings based off them.

Illustrated Mind map of collections, showing some of the things i have collected over the years.

Small ink painting of some of my Pokemon figurines.
I like the way the Pokemon can be translated into two or three colours and still look visually pleasing, this will come in useful when i get a chance to use the screen printing work shop.

Under milk wood project

Here are some initial ideas and drawings for the under milk wood project, they are mostly of Captain Cat, because he's the character i chose to look at more closely and i plan to create a couple of graphic novel pages based on him and his lost love. A couple of these are a little bit silly :)
